Hook, Pincer, Split Nail Deformity

The fingernails can sometimes grow abnormally. Common nail deformities include hook nail where the nail curves down towards the tip of the finger like a hook, pincer nail where the nail curves from side to side with the lateral edges directed into the nail bed, and split nail where scar tissue prevents a segment of nail from growing giving the remaining nail a split appearance.
